Minister of Foreign Affairs participates in World Assembly for Women
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Mrs. Battsetseg attended the 6th World Assembly for Women or WAW which was held in Tokyo on the 3rd of this month.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs Mrs. Battsetseg attended the 6th World Assembly for Women or WAW which was held in Tokyo on the 3rd of this month. Organized by the Government of Japan since 2014, the conference discusses a broad range of issues such as advancing gender equality and women's empowerment, with the participation of internationally renowned managers, leaders, as well as representatives of civil society and business. The event was cancelled due to the pandemic since 2019. The Prime Minister of Japan Fumio Kishida gave an opening speech, as well as other countries’ high officials took part at the event and also discussed issues such as women's social security, health, education, rural development, and increasing women's participation in the decision-making level. At the high-level discussion, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia, Mrs. Battsetseg introduced the policies and activities that Mongolia is implementing in the field of ensuring gender equality, protecting the rights of women, and increasing their participation at the decision-making level as well as highlighted the need to increase the participation of women and youth for maintaining the world peace and security. Additionally, the WAW brings together influential women leaders, industry leaders, representatives of civil society and business, as well as young people from all over the world, and is a major event to discuss a wide range of issues such as increasing women's participation in solving common global problems and improving women's empowerment and capability.
