The National Pride Day was celebrated in Mongolia, marking the 860th anniversary of the birth of Great Chinggis Khaan, which customarily falls on the first day of winter according to the Mongolian Lunar Calendar. This year, the day was occurred on November 24 to hold an awarding ceremony to confer the Supreme Decoration of the Mongolian State, the Order of Chinggis Khaan. The presidential decree states that the Order of Chinggis Khaan was awarded to Dr. Jack Weatherford, an American researcher, in recognition of his valuable contribution to the development of Chinggis Khaan studies and to Academician Dr. Prof. Dorjgotov Dechingungaa for his significant contribution to the environmental and climate studies of the soil and lands.
