Memorandum of understanding to be established with SpaceX

On June 2nd, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Digital Development and Communications held a virtual meeting with President and COO of SpaceX. During the meeting, the sides discussed when Starlink's services are planned to be available in Mongolia, the current scope of the network, and the possibilities of cooperation. Starlink emphasized the importance of constructing ground stations in Mongolia because of its vast territory. Due to the unique attributes of the land, not one, but several ground stations must be built, and Mongolia is required to provide necessary fiberoptic cables and internet connections. As a result, Mongolia will need some time to construct and operate the ground stations. Starlink also highlighted the significance of the Ministry's Digital Nation policy in establishing a nationwide digital infrastructure and delivering Internet access in rural, isolated, and tourist areas. Moreover, the company and the Ministry agreed to establish a memorandum of understanding in other areas.
