Mongol Ecology Center, a local nonprofit is accepting project proposals from 15–18-year-old students for a sustainable entrepreneurship contest “Teen Solution” which will grant a total of 30 million MNT to fund selected projects. The “Teen Solution” project is being implemented with a grant from the Australian Embassy in Mongolia for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Australia and Mongolia. It is part of the Youth Sustainability Corps (YSC) program, co-funded by the European Union and Mongol Ecology Center, which aims to empower young people by educating them about their civil rights, and by developing their skills to monitor, collaborate, and advocate for the use of best practices in effectively managing and utilizing Mongolia’s natural and cultural resources. The contest will enable high school students not only to identify the issues they face but also contribute to solving them by implementing small-scale projects. Experts and mentors will work with selected teams of students to develop their ideas into sustainable project proposals and present them to potential sponsors such as local and international businesses, organizations, and individuals. At least 3 teams will be selected to receive seed funding to kickstart their projects.
