Mongolia, Hong Kong to explore possibility of establishing free trade agreement
Consul General of Mongolia in Hong Kong G.Jargalsaikhan met with Director-General of the Trade and Industry Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Mr. Brian Lo and Deputy Director-General Mr. Francis Ho on April 29.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on increasing bilateral trade turnover, including the widespread introduction of Mongolian agricultural and natural products in the Hong Kong market, the development of creative industry cooperation, as well as the promotion of Hong Kong financial and legal services to Mongolian enterprises. They also concurred to explore the possibility of establishing a free trade agreement and investment protection agreement with Mongolia. In addition, the sides agreed to cooperate in exchanging experiences on small and medium enterprise development policies and activities.
The Trade and Industry Department of the Hong Kong SAR is the government department whose main functions are to increase foreign trade cooperation with countries, establish multilateral trade agreements, and support small and medium enterprises to enter new markets.
