Agriculture Minister holds virtual meeting with Italian Ambassador
Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry, Co-chair of Mongolia-Italy Intergovernmental Commission had a virtual meeting with Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Mongolia Laura Botta.
Minister Z.Mendsaikhan thanked the Ambassador and the Italian Embassy staff for paying special attention to the developing bilateral cooperation in agriculture, saying it is of great importance for Mongolia to expand cooperation with Italy, which has world-leading light industrial equipment.
The Minister of Agriculture also showed an interest in expanding cooperation in light industry, building Darkhan leather complex, cooperating in wool and cashmere industry, purchasing necessary equipment on favorable terms, promoting the Mongolian Noble Fibre certification mark to European Union member countries, and training and upskilling specialists. The Italian Ambassador was informed of the upcoming working visit of the Ministry’s representatives to Italy.
The sides agreed to hold the next meeting of the Mongolia-Italy intergovernmental commission that last convened its second meeting in 2017 virtually on May 20, 2021. The commission will discuss the development of bilateral cooperation in agriculture, light industry, environment, wildlife protection, energy, waste management, environmentally-friendly tourism, and infrastructure.
