Restriction imposed on traffic going out of Ulaanbaatar
On March 26, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the State Emergency Commission (SEC) S.Amarsaikhan informed about the decisions that were made at the SEC meeting that took place on the same day.
More specifically, the SEC has resolved to restrict the traffic movement from Ulaanbaatar to the rest of the country for 14 days. Only essential goods such as food, fuel, fodder, medicines and medical supplies, and mining products will be allowed to be transported.
A decision was also made to have certain aimags with an increasing number of COVID-19 cases as well as those that are currently in high risk enter into the Red Level – Level 4 from 6 AM, March 28 to 6 AM, April 11.
Furthermore, the SEC has decided to put the capital city under lockdown from April 5 if the risk of infection continues to persist. He then said, “In the case where the capital city is put under strict lockdown, vaccination works will continue to be carried out as it is planned to involve 1 million citizens of the capital city by May 1.”
