Foreign Minister meets UN Resident Coordinator
On March 19, Minister of Foreign Affairs B.Battsetseg had a meeting with Resident Coordinator of the United Nations in Mongolia Tapan Mishra.
Minister B. Battsetseg reported on the Government’s efforts to prevent and respond to COVID-19 and vaccinate the population and thanked the United Nations for its all-around support and cooperation. Moreover, the sides had discussions at length about improving cross-sector consistency to align Mongolia’s long- and medium-term development policy documents with Sustainable Development Goals as well as the implementation of UN Development Assistance Framework 2017-2021 for Mongolia.
Resident Coordinator Tapan Mishra commended the actions the Government of Mongolia has been taking to fight COVID-19 and gave information on projects and programs being undertaken through bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
The sides exchanged views on the celebration plan for the 60th anniversary of Mongolia’s accession to the United Nations, which falls this year.
