Ambassador of the French Republic to Mongolia, Mr. Philippe Merlin, has put forth a request to work in partnership with Uvurkhangai province in the tourism sector. The Ambassador made a working visit in the province and held a meeting with the governors to discuss projects currently being implemented and opportunities for further partnerships. The two sides highlighted that the consistent partnership and projects that were realized especially in the health sector have shown great results. Establishing partnership with Allier prefecture of France in 2001, certain projects in the sectors of health, agriculture and education have been done in Uvurkhangai province so far.“We saw the necessity to partner in the tourism sector. As the province is one of the most attractive places for tourist, it is possible to improve the province’s economy by developing tourism. A lot of work has to be done by not only the province, but also the Government,” said the Ambassador.
