Young Mongolists to explore Mongolia
A summer course on Mongolian literature, culture and tradition is running for young Mongolists from July 22 to August 4
A summer course on Mongolian literature, culture and tradition is running for young Mongolists from July 22 to August 4 on the initiative of the Institute of Language and Literature of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences. In the first part of the course, theories and methodologies will be taught by professionals. The next week, students from 15 countries who are studying Mongolian language, history and culture will visit a Mongolian family to personally get acquainted with the country’s culture. They will familiarize themselves with daily life of Mongolians through various activities such as cow milking, dairy processing, horse riding, and herding. The head of the Oral Literature Department of MAS Institute of Language and Literature said “More and more foreign researchers are studying Mongolia, the motherland of Chingis Khan. Therefore, the key objective of the course is to give those researchers an opportunity to personally get acquainted with the unique lifestyle and culture of Mongolia.”
