Trilateral tourism cooperation to be intensified
The Mongolia-Russia-China Tourism Ministerial Meeting has taken place in Ulanqab in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region in China.
The Mongolia-Russia-China Tourism Ministerial Meeting has taken place in Ulanqab in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region in China. This is the 4th Meeting of the Tourism Ministers of the three countries. The meeting was aimed at ensuring the implementation of decisions made at the 4thmeeting of heads of state of the three countries as well as intensifying concrete trilateral tourism cooperation. At the meeting, the three parties introduced the actions taken so far and those still to be taken for the expansion of the trilateral tourism cooperation. The Mongolian delegation attended the meeting to make proposals on increasing the variety and quality of tourism products of the Tea Road, reflecting this matter in policies of the three states. At the same time enhancing safety of tourists, facilitating travel conditions, and implementing joint marketing activities such as offering and promoting tourism products of the three countries to citizens from other countries, was high on the agenda. Moreover, the delegation held bilateral meetings and took part in forums and discussions, introducing Mongolia’s policies and measures for tourism development and exchanging views on the issue of promoting trilateral tourism cooperation and joint projects and programs. Russia and China play major roles in Mongolia’s tourism industry. In 2018, the number of Russian tourists to Mongolia increased to about 130,000 or by 20.7 percent and Chinese tourists - to 164.000 or by 13.8 percent. Therefore, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism has been attaching great importance to this trilateral meeting.
