Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command Admiral Philip Davidson arrived in Ulaanbaatar to take part in the Khaan Quest military exercise.

Commander of the United States Indo-Pacific Command Admiral Philip Davidson arrived in Ulaanbaatar to take part in the Khaan Quest military exercise, a multinational peacekeeping exercise co-sponsored by US Indo-Pacific Command hosted by the Mongolian Armed Forces. The Mongolian officials and Ambassador of the United States to Mongolia Michael Klecheski welcomed the US commander at the airport. As part of his visit, Admiral Davidson will meet with President Kh.Battulga, high-level Mongolian government officials and military personnel, participate in the opening ceremony of Khaan Quest. During his visit, the US admiral will discuss regional peace and security with Ambassador Klecheski and senior government officials. The US strategy in the Indo-Pacific continues to be a platform for promoting a free and open international order. That framework is based on strong partnerships and seeking ways to further meaningful engagement between countries like Mongolia and the United States. The US Indo-Pacific Command’s area of responsibility encompasses about half the earth’s surface, stretching from the waters off the west coast of the United States to the western border of India, and from Antarctica to the North Pole. Admiral Davidson is the senior US military authority in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region and reports to the US president through the secretary of defense.
