UNICEF donate measles vaccine to Mongolia
The UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Mongolia donated 577,000 doses of measles vaccine, syringes and safety kits worth $500,000 to Mongolia.
The UN Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Mongolia donated 577,000 doses of measles vaccine, syringes and safety kits worth $500,000 to Mongolia. During the announcement in a statement, the Mongolian Health Minister Sarangerel Davaajantsan expressed her gratitude to UNICEF for providing the necessary vaccines during a time of need. The vaccines will be used for vaccinating children between the ages of 5 to 18 in western five provinces, and children between the ages of 10-18 residing to Ulaanbaatar and the rest 16 provinces during the nation-wide supplementary vaccination program from May 15to 25. The government of Mongolia and UNICEF are partnering in purchasing vaccines that meet the standards of the World Health Organization at a discounted price, and in providing equipment for vaccine and bio-preparation.
