Minister of Food, Agriculture and Light Industry held a meeting with UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Resident Representative in Mongolia and Head of Cooperation and General Consul of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Mongolia. They exchanged views on preparation for the national forum themed ‘Establishment of legal framework for rangeland management in Mongolia’ to be held in the State Palace. At the forum, over 800 participants including sector experts, representatives of international and non-governmental organizations and local citizens will talk over the bill on rangeland management, current state of the use of rangelands, and pressing issues together with the ways to overcome them. Moreover, local authorities and citizens will establish agreements and share good practices for proper rangeland use. The forum will have the purposes to promote the significance of the government bill on rangeland management, address pressing issues, and introduce international and local good practices.
