School children with disabilities to be promoted with new project

Child Fund Japan has started implementing their second project in central Uvurkhangai province. With the financing of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the project named “Supporting the Principle in Promoting Equal Opportunities for Education for Mongolian Children” will be realized from 2018 till 2021. The project targets children with special needs education and all children to promote equal education regardless of their differentiation in learning, different needs, language, social origin, and financial capability. So far, activities such as training for enhancing primary teachers’ capacity and establishing a parent council of children with disabilities were carried out. Moreover, the project organizers are planning to involve another school and closely cooperate with over 500 children with disabilities. Previously, Child Fund Japan successfully realized the project “Enhancing Primary Education Performance of Children from Herder Households in Remote Area” in 10 soums of central Uvurkhangai province between 2012 and 2016.
