Scooter-sharing system to be introduced next M
One of the comprehensive actions for reducing traffic jam in the capital city and improving health of citizens is the Bike Rental Service project ‘UBIKE’ launched this summer.
Mayor of the capital city and Governor of Ulaanbaatar Batbold presented the second phase of the project, ‘USCOOTER’, a scooter-sharing system which will be launched next May. The system is 100 percent eco-friendly as it will provide electric motor scooters or electric mopeds. On a single charge, the scooter can travel 20-30 km with a speed of 25 km/h. The rental service will be provided through mobile application, similar to the UBIKE. Bike and scooter racks for both UBIKE and USCOOTER systems with solar chargers will be established by the JCDecaux, a group specialized in street furniture advertising, large format billboards, advertising on public transport, and self-service bicycle rental systems. The scooter-sharing system has been introduced to public transportation systems of large cities in Europe since 2017.
