Construction of new wastewater treatment plant of Ulaanbaatar city begins
By constructing the plant, it is expected to improve its quality and access, to secure environmental hygiene and safety as well as to make a significant contribution to reducing pollution.
During his official visit to Mongolia, Foreign Minister of China Wang Yi attended an opening ceremony of a project to build a new Wastewater Treatment Plant of Ulaanbaatar city, to be implemented with the soft loan worth USD300 million of the Government of China. The new treatment plant will be ecologically efficient in water usage. Water purified by the new plant will be used in cooling of power plants of the city. The constructional work is expected to complete in 2020. "By constructing the plant, it is expected to improve its quality and access, to secure environmental hygiene and safety as well as to make a significant contribution to reducing air, soil and environmental pollution." the PM Khurelsukh.U pointed out at the beginning of the ceremony. Mr. Wang Yi said that the construction becomes one of the indications of 70-years historical cooperation and mutual support of the two countries and that they were pleased with the contribution to Mongolians to live in a clean and safe environment and to protect the environment.
