UNICEF Deputy Representative to Mongolia appointed
Speciose Hakizimana has a professional background in Public Health and Socio-Economic development programs and is experienced in the delivery of humanitarian assistance, international aid development.
Speciose Hakizimana joined the UNICEF team in Mongolia as the Deputy Representative in August 2018. She has a professional background in Public Health and Socio-Economic development programs and is experienced in the delivery of humanitarian assistance, international aid development, including the overall management of country programs. Until her reassignment to Mongolia, she was the Deputy Representative for UNICEF Central African Republic from November 2015, after holding the same position within the UNICEF Area Office for Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and Sao Tome e Principe since March 2018. Speciose Hakizimana joined UNICEF in 2002 as an HIV/AIDS Programme Officer Specialist in the Central African Republic before moving to Cameroon UNICEF Country office as the Chief HIV and AIDS Section in 2005. Prior to this, she served her country in different positions respectively with the Ministry of Health and World Health Organization. Speciose holds a Medical Doctor Degree, specialized in Maternal and Child Health Management Programmes and Epidemiology. She is from Burundi.
