President takes part in opening ceremony of "Warrior Spirit - Preseverance Arena: 360 Archery Field"

The 360 Degrees Project was initiated by President of the Mongolian Archery Association Mr. Tsagaan and lead by Association's Board Member Mr. Erdenebold.

The opening ceremony of the "Warrior Spirit - Perseverance Arena: 360 Archery Field" was held Wednesday in Mongolia's capital Ulaanbaatar. Opening in the country's largest national park as part of the 360 Degrees Project, this outdoor archery field has been built according to international standards as a result of the innovative initiative, dedication and hard work of thousands of supporters. In other words, the field was constructed without taxpayers' money, but by the hard work of athletes themselves, donations and assistance from citizens across the country.

As of today, around 800 people have contributed 300 million tugriks (121 thousand USD) worth of monetary and non-monetary donations; the spending of which have been timely posted on Facebook, letting everyone know that their contributions did matter. The archery field, having gained nearly 58 thousand supporters on social media, will host training sessions for professional archery field for almost 58 years. Having completed this project, the Mongolian Archery Association has inspired thousands to reach their athletic milestones and educate generations to come. The 360 Degrees Project was initiated by President of the Mongolian Archery Association Mr. Tsagaan and lead by Association's Board Member Mr. Erdenebold. At the opening ceremony, Mr. Tsagaan stated that "Archery is a sporting event featuring in the summer Olympics that signifies mankind's unity and produced Mongolia's first ever world champion in any sports. Today is a celebration day for all those who love and enthusiastically support this sports. It is because we have built and completed a world-class archery field only for 58 days after the 58 years of yearning desire for a dedicated field. This is a significant achievement that has been made possible by the donations, passion, and labor of archery athletes, coaches, their families, and the fans and advocates of archery". Many gladly noted that with this field Mongolia can now host an international archery tournament of any kind. Mongolian archers achieved many successes in the past. For instance, Demberel.D became the first Mongolian crowned as world champion in 1971. Also, athlete Baatarjav.B earned a gold medal in the Beijing Paralympics 2008, cheering the people of Mongolia with his accomplishment as Paralympic champion. Thus, archery has a potential to be one of the top sports where Mongolians succeed at international and global level competitions. President of Mongolia Mr. Battulga Khaltmaa attended the opening ceremony and gave a speech. In his speech, Mr. President congratulated the Mongolian Archery Association and wished a great success for national athletes and coaches. He also expressed his sincere gratitude to the developers for their meaningful investment for the youth.

Remarkably, the biggest Olympic rings statue with a dimension of 27x13 meters will be erected at the field and likely to feature in Guinness World Records book. The team assembling the rings stated that this statue will represent the wish of Mongolians for their first Olympic champion from Mongolian archery athletes.
