New Ulaanbaatar city tour launches for tourists
The tour presents the city culture, museums, exhibitions, and factories to local and foreign travelers.
A new Ulaanbaatar city tour commenced to improve convenience, safety, tour quality and access to services for tourists. The tour presents the city culture, museums, exhibitions, and factories to local and foreign travelers. It was initiated to promote the city, which has a 379-year history and give the opportunity to learn about the city to tourists. During the opening ceremony, Mayor Batbold.S said, “We are discussing ways to increase the number of tourists and create a tourism economy. First, we should produce products and services, and adopt a standard for them. The tourists that come to Mongolia are interested in nomadic lifestyles and Khuvsgul Lake. This is why we must improve services to world standards. One of these initiatives is the Ulaanbaatar city tour service. It offers the chance to travel through unique and culturally significant places in the capital. Even though Ulaanbaatar is said to be small, we have many unique places on offer. Going forward, we are planning to determine and create musts ee places in the capital.” Tourism is one of the leading sectors of the Mongolian economy. Some 471.000 tourists visited Mongolia in 2017, which contributed around 400 million USD to the economy. This figure is expected to rise this year. Around 92 percent of tourists coming to Mongolia pass through the capital. The new city tour will take travelers to notable locations in the city such as the central Sukhbaatar Square, Gandantegchinlen Monastery, Bogd Khaan Palace Museum, Wedding Palace, Temple Museum of Choijin Lama and so on.
