Model hospital to improve Mongolian health sector standard to be built
The 4-story hospital with 200 beds will provide 7-8 types of specialized health aids with an annual serving capacity of 47000 persons for ambulatory care and 10000 persons for hospitalization.
Officials led by Minister of Health got acquainted with construction work of a new model hospital in Songinokhairkhan district within the framework of the Fourth Health Sector Development Program with funding of non-refundable aid and loan by the Asian Development Bank. The 4-story hospital with 200 beds will provide 7-8 types of specialized health aids with an annual serving capacity of 47000 persons for ambulatory care and 10000 persons for hospitalization. The Ministry is training over 100 doctors, nurses and other medical workers of the model hospital in cooperation with the Mongolian National University of Medical Sciences and the Center for Health Development. Commissioning the model hospital it is expected to improve sufficiency and quality of medical assistance of the secondary level hospitals, to lower load of tertiary hospitals as well as to reduce the number of patients going abroad for medical care. Currently, the construction work runs with 38 percent performance by Vamed Engineering Company of Australia.
