Foreign Minister discussed cooperation with NGO representatives from US
The sides exchanged views on issues including backing volunteers’ activities in Mongolia, continuing ‘Lead Mongolia’ program, expanding cooperation between private sectors of the countries and so on.
Foreign Affairs Minister Tsogtbaatar.D met with representatives from the Peace Corps, the Asia Foundation, the International Republican Institute, the American Chamber of Commerce in Mongolia, ‘World Learning’ and Mercy Corps at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. At the meeting, corresponding organizations presented ongoing works in Mongolia and further actions. Minister Tsogtbaatar.D pointed out that ties between the two countries must not be limited only by intergovernmental cooperation and have to have a wide range of relations such as people-to-people and humanitarian relationships. These organizations made special contributions to enriching and strengthening ties between Mongolia and the United States and to the socio-economic development of Mongolia, noted the Minister while expressing his gratitude to them. The sides exchanged views on issues including backing volunteers’ activities in Mongolia, continuing ‘Lead Mongolia’ program, expanding cooperation between private sectors of the two countries, implementation of a project to support beef export of Mongolia and other related matters and they agreed the two countries have wide and new cooperation opportunities.
