Prime minister discussed cooperation with outgoing South Korean ambassador
As Korean Ambassador noted during the meeting, feasibility studies for power plants that will be built through a soft loan granted by South Korea to Mongolia are going to be completed soon.
Mongolian Prime Minister Khurelsukh.U received outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Mongolia U Sung. The prime minister underlined that throughout his diplomatic mission, Ambassador U Sung has greatly contributed to developing the relations and cooperation between the two countries, especially maintain the number of mutual high-level visits, increasing mutual trade and economic cooperation. Accordingly, as a result of the last January’s visit to South Korea, the two sides agreed to take bilateral ties to a new level by making agreements on numerous matters and issuing mutually beneficial resolutions. He also thanked the government of South Korea for rendering supports to Mongolia to overcome economic difficulties. The premier also expressed that he hopes U Sung will focus on supporting Mongolians living in South Korea, and work to establish an agreement so that the citizens of the two countries will be able to travel to each other’s countries without visas. As Korean Ambassador noted during the meeting, feasibility studies for power plants that will be built through a soft loan granted by South Korea to Mongolia are going to be completed soon and construction of the power plants will launch this autumn. Moreover, the sides exchanged ideas on other issues, including the ties between private sectors and people-to-people of the two countries and cooperation in tourism. Mongolia and the Republic of Korea have been maintaining friendly relations since the establishment of diplomatic relations in the 1990s.
