Safety on handling radioactive minerals tightened

Atomic Energy Commission headed by the Mongolian Prime Minister Khurelsukh Ukhnaa held a meeting early this week. During the meeting, the commission discussed and approved the Radiation Safety Rules on Mining and Processing Radioactive Minerals. The safety rules aim to protect the citizens, nature from possible radiation risks that could be caused during mining operations and unexpected incidents in relation to the construction, operation and decommissioning of a processing facility. In addition, the safety rule on radioactive minerals ensure implementations of the related laws and regulations. Mr. Khurelsukh assigned a task to business entities to organize disaster preparedness drill on radiation protection once a year.
