Pursuant to the Law on the Protection of Cultural Heritage, the national census on historical and cultural heritages will be held with an aim to enrich the existing heritage database and update the statistical figures. National census is conducted under the scope of protecting cultural and historical heritages of Mongolia as well as improving Mongolian youth’s knowledge on national culture and traditions. Currently, there are 44 museums operating actively in the nation, funded by the government as well as by private sector. At the same time, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports is drafting a Law on Museum, which is expected to be submitted to the Parliament this year.
