Mongolia launches communication app for disabled people
A mobile application was launched in Mongolia for the first time with an aim to provide inclusive education and encourage communication for disabled people.
“Shuvuu” or "Bird 1.0," the mobile application was launched in Mongolia for the first time with an aim to provide inclusive education and encourage communication for disabled people. This app, available on both iOS and Android devices, will be improved year after year by adding new words and images, developers said. The idea of creating a communication app for disabled people was initiated by ‘Autism Mongolia - And’ and ‘Autism Association of Mongolia’ NGOs.
The app, allows users to post more than 230 words. In addition, the users can enrich the vocabulary and imagery of the app fitting their needs.
As of the first quarter of this year, there are over 120,000 people with disabilities, including people with Down syndrome and autism, according to statistics.
