During the ongoing visit of Mongolian PM Khurelsukh Ukhnaa to China, the signing of several bilateral cooperation documents was held in fields such as economy, industrial capacity, environmental protection and people-to-people relations. During the meeting between Khurelsukh Ukhnaa and his counterpart Li Keqiang, Chinese PM called on both sides to strengthen people-to-people exchanges in youth, culture, media and tourism to consolidate the social and public opinion foundation for Mongolia-China friendship as next year will mark the 70th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties between two countries. In return, Prime Minister Khurelsukh Ukhnaa said Mongolia gives priority to the friendly relationship with China in its foreign policy adding that Mongolia is willing to work with China to enhance political mutual trust, maintain high-level visits, deepen economic cooperation, integrate their development strategies, and have more pragmatic cooperation. At the meeting with Li Zhanshu, chairman of Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, both sides expressed their position for creating a favorable legal environment to develop relations of the two countries by using inter-parliamentary mechanism of permanent meeting effectively, and for expanding cooperation in other sectors. Furthermore, the sides expressed willingness to collaborate closely to enrich economic cooperation with new content and increase a bilateral trade turnover to USD10 billion by 2020 within the frames to harmonize and develop Mongolia’s ‘Development Road’ and China’s ‘The Belt and Road’ initiatives.
