Mongolia to establish Embassy in Bishkek. The Parliament adopted a resolution on the expansion of the Consulate General of Mongolia in Kyrgyz capital city to an embassy. Minister of Foreign Affairs Tsogtbaatar submitted the draft resolution to the Speaker of Parliament, which was backed by the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Security and Foreign Policy. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs forwarded its proposal to the Kyrgyz side, which then approved the promotion of the status of the Mongolian Consulate General in Bishkek. Mongolia established diplomatic relations with Kyrgyzstan in 1992, since then bilateral ties have been continually developing in political spheres with increased frequency of reciprocal visits. There are 18 agreements effectively regulating bilateral cooperation at present, and 10 more documents are on agenda. Currently, more than 50 Mongolians reside in the country with 500 people traveling to the country on average per annum. Bilateral trade volume amounts USD 600 thousand.
