The President of the National University of Mongolia (NUM) visited the Republic of Cuba for attending "University 2018" international higher education congress.

Mongolian-Cuban education sector to be strengthened. The President of the National University of Mongolia (NUM), Tumurbaatar visited the Republic of Cuba at invitation of the President of University of Havana, Gustavo Cobreiro for attending "University 2018" international higher education congress. At the meetings held during the visit, the two countries exchanged views on intensifying cooperation between the two universities, conducting joint researches and exchanging teachers, students and scholars and defining priority directions of the further cooperation. Moreover, The President of NUM got acquainted with activity of the Cuban Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology and the National Center for Diabetes Study where the two parties agreed to render reciprocal supports in developing joint actions against diabetes, hepatitis B and C, to conduct joint researches and to maintain active cooperation through  establishing joint research team comprising scholars of the two countries. Diabetes and the hepatitis B and C are one of the common diseases in Mongolia that the national program enables the patients with the hepatitis B and C to purchase discounted medicines to fight off the diseases.
