Mongolia and North Korea agree on furthering bilateral ties. Minister of Foreign Affairs Tsogtbaatar Damdin paid an official visit to Democratic People’s Republic of Korea past week. During the meeting with Ri Yongho, Foreign Affairs Minister of North Korea the sides signified the traditional friendly relations and successful development of cooperation, and agreed to celebrate the 70th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic relations in the two countries. Furthermore, Foreign Ministers shared willingness of furthering the bilateral relations. Within the frames of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations, sides agreed on organizing scientific conference, photo exhibitions, art and cultural events, as well as expressing commitment to Mongolia-DPRK studies and prepare scholars, as well as teaching Mongolian and Korean languages. Aside from the bilateral relations, sides discussed to cooperate in the international and regional levels and DPRK expressed support on Ulaanbaatar Dialogue Initiative on Northeast Asian Security of Mongolia. Minister Tsogtbaatar Damdin signified the recommencement of talks between the two countries and congratulated DPRK’s decision to participate in the Pyeongchang winter olympic games. He further hoped that the dialogue will give an important impetus to stabilize the region. In addition, the officials of National Emergency Management Agency of Mongolia and State Committee of Emergency Disaster Management of DPRK signed a Memorandum of Understanding.
