Mongolia and Turkey to intensify cooperation on various matters. Ambassador of Turkey to Mongolia Ahmet Yazal briefed about the embassy’s ongoing approach to boost cooperation between two countries. In 2017, the trade turnover between Mongolia and Turkey was USD 30 million. By increasing the number of flights being made by Turkish Airlines up to all seven days a week, it is possible to increase the turnover reaching to USD 300-500 million noted the Ambassador. Furthermore, the Ambassador Ahmet Yazal said Turkhish International Cooperation and Development Agency started to run its operation in coherence with initiatives and proposals forwarded by Mongolian government to enhance efficiency of TICA projects and investment. In the past, about 500 projects and programs were implemented by TICA, and 80 percent of which was accomplished past year. The intensified bilateral cultural cooperation can be seen through several projects launched in this sphere past year. Specifically, Turkic monuments in Orkhon valley were taken under protection with the support of Government of Turkey and international organizations. Besides, a work on establishing a museum nearby the monument to Tonyukuk has been commenced. Also over 100 Turkish scientists will arrive in Mongolia in June, reported the Ambassador during the meeting.
