Chile-Mongolia group to be established in Chilean parliament
President of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile Fidel Espinoza pledged to set up a Chile-Mongolia group in the parliament very soon.
The Speaker of Mongolian Parliament Enkhbold.M held several bilateral meetings during his attendance in the 26th annual meeting of Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum in Hanoi, Vietnam. Speaker Enkhbold.M held a meeting with Fidel Espinoza Sandoval, President of the Chamber of Deputies of Chile. They exchanged views on intensifying inter-parliamentary cooperation and establishing trade and economic partnership through the inter-parliamentary cooperation. Mongolian parliament has a parliamentary group of Mongolia-Latin America, but there is not a Mongolian group in Chilean Parliament; thus, Fidel Espinoza pledged to set up a Chile-Mongolia group in the parliament very soon. They also discussed about exploitation of natural resources, in particular copper extraction, its processing, sales and price. Chilean parliamentarians consider that it needs to establish a Chile-Peru-Mongolia trilateral partnership in order to be main players in world’s copper market. The sides also pointed out that two parliaments could cooperate on a certain matter, for instance transparency of legislative body and ethics and responsibility of members of parliament. Moreover, Enkhbold.M expressed an interest to learn from Chilean experience on establishment of sovereign wealth fund and retirement pension system.
