A Mongolian film, ‘Father’ which was first launched in 2015, has recently started to be shown officially in cinemas of China.
A Mongolian film, ‘Father’ which was first launched in 2015, has recently started to be shown officially in cinemas of China. This is one of the five foreign films obtained permission to be screened in China in 2018, of which four are from the USA. In addition, the film directed by Director and Actor at the Mongolian State Academic Theatre of Drama, Erdenebileg, was selected as the “Best film” in the Mongolian Academy Awards along with the “Best Director” and “Best Actor” awards in 2015. ‘Father’ depicts the present and past lives of a single father who is left with an only daughter in his college years and has to making a living by working as a taxi driver. His daughter then grows up and shares the similar experiences of her father becoming pregnant during her college year. Last year the film was also screened in the Russian Federation during the Mongolian film days organized by Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports with the aims to promote Mongolian films abroad.
