The database will provide information on the nation's mineral resources, soil moisture, permafrost mapping, history, archaeology, seismic activity, and weather patterns. According to officials, the database will be used for urban planning and developing construction projects, determining groundwater levels, and researching the melting of permafrost. Minister of Construction and Urban Development Mr Badelkhan noted that the database can be used by a number of industries, as well as functioning as a tool for research and monitoring.
