Calligraphy exhibition for National Pride Day opened
Сalligraphic exhibition “Script of Eternal Sky 2017” has opened on occasion of 855th birth anniversary of Chinggis Khaan.
At the initiative of President of Mongolia Kh.Battulga, calligraphic exhibition “Script of Eternal Sky 2017” has opened on the occasion of the 855th birth anniversary of Chinggis Khaan. The exhibition, made annual since 2011, showcases calligraphic pieces created by eight distinguished artists and 55 school children this year. The exhibition is free-of-charge and available to the public for next week. Mongolian calligraphy was inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding in 2013. Although the Mongolia follows a Cyrillic orthography which was adopted during the Communist era, Mongolian calligraphy is written in the traditional classical vertical script.
