Heart saving project appreciated. President Kh.Battulga received representatives of Japanese NGO 'Heart Saving Project' and thanked the NGO saying that it is appreciated since 2001 with its first operations in Mongolia. A study indicates one in a hundred children in Mongolia has heart deformity and the number is likely to rise up due to air and other environmental pollutions. I have been collaborating with this project in light of its not-for-profit purposes, and I will continue my assistance” noted the President. The Heart Saving Project has toured around all 21 provinces of Mongolia, involved about 6,000 children in tests for heart deformity and more than 560 children received free-of-charge heart operations that saved their lives. In addition, the NGO has donated fire-fighting and ambulance trucks to Mongolian authorities. Furthermore, the project team is intending to go back to the provinces to deliver the medical services to infants and children in needs.
