Mongolia, European Union strengthen relations. Mongolia and the European Union signed an agreement to establish the privileges and immunities of the EU delegation and its Atomic Energy Community in Ulaanbaatar. The Mongolian Foreign Minister, D. Tsogtbaatar, and the EU ambassador to Mongolia, Hans Dietmar Schweisgut, signed the document that opens a new phase in the relations between Mongolia and that economic bloc, in addition to guaranteeing the implementation of the Agreement Framework of Association and Cooperation in force. Tsogtbaatar said that the opening of the EU delegation is the result of several diplomatic exchanges, and proposed to cooperate in the promotion of small and medium enterprises during a meeting with ambassadors of that political community before the signing of the agreement. For his part, Dietmar Schweisgut stated that for the EU, Mongolia is a like-minded partner, turned into a brilliant market economy, and intends to expand bilateral relations in areas such as trade and investment. The EU ambassador to Mongolia leads a group of more than 20 high-level diplomats from that regional bloc participating in the annual meeting that will end this Friday, with Ulaanbaatar leaders and representatives of civil society to strengthen cooperation.
