Mongolian judoka wins gold at Abu Dhabi grand slam
Judoka G.Odbayar won gold medal at Abu Dhabi Grand Slam, which took place in United Arab Emirates.
Judoka G.Odbayar won a gold medal at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam, which took place in the United Arab Emirates. In the finals of men’s -73 kg weight category, G.Odbayar defeated his Russian opponent Musa Mogushkov to claim the gold medal. “World bronze medalist Odbayar has now won four medals from his last four events and is arguably the form judoka in the weight category. Odbayar opposed European silver medalist Musa in the final and the Russian quickly fell behind to a waza-ari score,” the International Judo Federation wrote about the match. Meanwhile, Mongolian President issued a decree to award the judoka a State Honored Athlete title. Mongolia ranked 3rd at the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam with two gold and one silver medals.
