Qatar to invest Mongolia

Foreign Minister D.Tsogtbaatar and Sultan bin Salmeen al-Mansouri, Non-Resident Ambassador of Qatar to Mongolia exchanged views on the bilateral relations and cooperation. The Ambassador said that the Qatar Investment Authority is willing to make investment in Mongolia, so he proposed to introduce developmental and investment projects that are available to take investments from Qatar. In response, the Foreign Minister underlined the importance for Mongolia to learn Qatari experiences in real estate and urban development, to attract investments and to collaborate in culture, diplomacy and sport. Mongolia and Qatar established the diplomatic relations in 1998. As of first nine months of this year, the trade turnover reached almost US 470 thousand, of which USD 200 thousand was the Mongolian export. In 2006, the Qatari Government granted a non-refundable aid of US 10 million for the Millennium Road Project which was spent on building a 65 km road.
