Mongolian Peacekeepers serving in the United Nations Peacekeeping Operations in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS) managed to stop an armed attack occurred in the region. Some armed people assaulted and robbed people in a refugee camp in Bentiu town and it was stopped by the personnel of the motorized infantry battalion. The Headquarters of the United Nations Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS) applauded the protecting refugees in the town, saying that “The Mongolian battalion took immediate measures on the incidence in accordance with the Basic Principles on the Use of Force and Firearms.” Since 2003, approximately 14,000 Mongolian peacekeepers served at some dozen UN Missions around the world. It currently has peacekeepers deployed in four different international locations.
