Mongolia-UN cooperation is to be intensified. Mongolia will ensure the continuity of the actions and promises of the Government of Mongolia to carry out the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) noted PM U.Khurelsukh during the meeting with Beate Trankmann, UN Resident Coordinator and UN Development Programme Resident Representative to Mongolia. The Prime Minister pledged to intensify works of the National Development Agency, improve intersectoral collaboration and provide it with proper policy in order to achieve the SDGs. For her part, Beate Trankmann noted that the SDGs deal with three pillars of sustainability--economy, society and environment. “We understand that Mongolia is primarily focusing on the economic pillar due to its current circumstances,” she said and expressed hope that Mongolia will not leave the other two pillars behind. The necessity to enhance intersectoral collaboration, identify leading investment spheres and determine regulations for the SDGs' implementation was the emphasis by the Resident Coordinator. PM appreciated the UN's support to Mongolia through humanitarian and development aids for sustainable social and economic growth and equal access to the fruits of development.
