Mongolia-U.S-Japan trilateral meeting held in Ulaanbaatar. The parties expressed willingness to strengthen their mechanism of talks with economic, investment, security and defense directions in accordance with common interests. Mongolia briefed about some changes occurred in the economic and investment environment since the previous meeting in 2015, a present situation of the foreign policy, the current economic cooperation, the policy over Asia-Pacific and Northeast Asian regions, such as, the Ulaanbaatar Dialogue on Northeast Asian Security, as well as the policy within the international cooperation. The parties also expressed their aspiration to cooperation in the regional security and peacekeeping operations. Held for the first time in Mongolia, the trilateral meeting has significant importance for Mongolia to share views and consolidate its position with the USA and Japan concerning the political, economic and defense ties, to widen the economic cooperation, and to get involved in the Asia-Pacific regional economic integration. The meeting also gives advantages to Mongolia for boosting the cooperation at the international and regional levels.
