Europen banks to support Mongolian wind project. European Investment Bank is to provide €39.7m to help fund the 54MW Sainshand project. Ferrostaal and Engie have secured €39.7m to support the construction of the 54MW Sainshand onshore wind farm in Mongolia. The European Investment Bank confirmed the funding this week that will help to meet total project costs estimated at €95m. The development partners are planning to deploy Vestas hardware at the project in the central Asian country’s Dornogobi province. A wind measurement campaign ongoing since 2006 found average speeds of 7.7 metres per second.
