The meeting was held in connection with his return to Canada.
Mongolia’s Prime Minister J.Erdenebat received the Ambassador of Canada to Mongolia Ed Jager in connection with his return to Canada. For the sides to extend current “Comprehensive Partnership” to “Complete Partnership”, the Prime Minister’s involvement and contribution is significant, marked the Ambassador Ed Jager. PM J.Erdenebat requested Canada to actively cooperate on “Agreement on Promotion and Protection of Foreign Investment”, which started implementation this year and gave positive signs of Mongolian legal environment to Canadian and other foreign investors with the agreement. Mongolia actively cooperates with Canada in the mining sector, however; the Government is focusing on diversifying the economy, and interested in cooperating in the agriculture and banking sector, expressed the Prime Minister. Within the frame of Development Program of Canadian Government, Mongolia was listed as one of the 25 countries to be granted development aid and implementing 6 projects worth of CAD 55.4 million since 2016.
