Re-polling expects to be conducted nationwide. Mongolia’s Presidential Election was held on June 26 with three candidates. Although the voter turnout was 66.5 percent, none of the three candidates won absolute majority votes. Kh.Battulga, a nominee of Democratic Party won 39 percent, M.Enkhbold, a nominee of Mongolian People`s Party won 31 percent and S.Ganbaatar, a nominee of Mongolian People`s Revolutionary Party won 31 percent of the total votes respectively. According to the Law on Election, a candidate must receive at least 50 percent. For none of the candidates won the absolute majority votes in the first round, the two most voted candidates will run for a second round. The re-polling will take place nationwide within two weeks after the first polling day. The re-polling date should be set by a regular meeting of State Great Khural.
