Mongolian all provinces and sub-provinces have an access to internet. ‘E-soum’ project is one of the several programs and projects targeted at the development of information and communications sector with the Government’s initiatives and implements. The project is being implemented by the Government and its’ launch event, with the announcement of Mongolia’s 21 provinces and 285 sub-provinces’ connectivity to the wireless broadband internet connection enabling countryside residents to use the inexpensive internet service, was held yesterday. The project will give benefits to over 800 thousand people in remote sub-provinces and settlements and it is essential to improve their involvement of state policy development, access of state services as well as to make state organizations operate transparently and without bureaucracy said Prime Minister at the opening ceremony. Furthermore, he noted that government is working with an aim to make state service equally accessible and inclusive, reaching to the farthest part of countryside for its citizens, and thereby changing the current situation of rural people’s migration to the bigger settlements to receive state services. A total of MNT2.5 billion was spent for coverage of full access to internet service for Mongolian countryside.
