The President of Mongolia participated in the 17th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit of the Council of Heads of State, which was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan.

The President of Mongolia participated in the 17^th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit of the Council of Heads of State, which was held in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. Since gaining the observer status of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Mongolia has been actively partaking in the SCO Summit of the Council of Heads of State and Government and other events noted President Ts. Elbegdorj. Furthermore, he emphasized that there is an opportunity in Mongolia to establish the shortest, the safest, the easiest and the most inexpensive road and infrastructure connecting Russia and Europe with China and Asia. Mongolia is collaborating with Russia and China to develop an energy infrastructure network as country has vast renewable energy potential including solar, wind and hydro energy resources. Consequently, the President called on the summit’s attendees to collaborate with Mongolia in implementing mutual beneficial and environmentally friendly energy projects to help Mongolia join the Asia-Pacific Regional Energy Hub.
