Ulaanbaatar Marathon - 2017 to be held in May. The public sporting event expects up to 30 thousand runners this year hoping to expand the traditional event’s popularity. Past year Ulaanbaatar Marathon registered some 24 thousand runners which was the highest ever turn-out in the country’s biggest sporting event. For amateur runners, the organizers are planning a 5000 meters run in four age categories 12-17, 18-35, 36-54 and 55 plus. Moreover, a 1.5 km distance run is available for families and disabled persons.
