Cooperation with Irkutsk region of Russia is considered to be intensified. Visiting Irkutsk Governor Levchenko highlighted the preparedness to take part and assist in large-scale energy projects Mongolia seeks to implement. While meeting the Speaker of Mongolian Parliament Mr. Levchenko told about an arrangement to establish a travel route between Baikal and Khuvsgul Lakes. However, the parties need to have adequate road connecting the lakes, he said. The closer relationship between Irkutsk and Mongolia would held advance the bilateral ties between the two countries, said the Governor of Irkutsk region. Mr. Speaker M.Enkhbold noted the importance of developing closer trade and economic ties and co-realizing large-scale projects and programs, emphasizing on the role to be played by Irkutsk region, being in geographical proximity and having a rich history of good relations. Mr. Speaker highlighted that Mongolia-Russia ties have been intensifying in every sector following the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Mongolia and after the signing of a medium-term Strategic Partnership agreement.
