A Mongolian shepherd named Enkhnasan, will partake in 2017 World Shearing and Wool handling Championships representing the Mongolia.
Mongolian shepherd to compete in 2017 World Shearing and Woolhandling Championships. A Mongolian shepherd named Enkhnasan, will partake in 2017 World Shearing and Wool handling Championships representing the Mongolia. The championships will be organized in South Island of New Zealand on February 8-11 and so far over 32 countries are registered to compete at the championships. Enkhnasan Chuluunbaatar, comes from a nomadic herding background in Bulgan province. His family herd’s consists of several hundred sheep, goats and along with their horses and cattle. The main feature of Mongolian way to shear the sheep is that they don’t use the blades; instead they use large scissors to shear the sheep. Since his arrival in New Zealand in 2012, he learnt to machine shear in NZ and since then, he has been shearing in his local area. He intends to return to Mongolia in near future with his family and plans to put the machine shearing skills he has learnt in New Zealand to good use in his home country of Mongolia.
